Me and Thomas's most recent joint cooking adventure =)
We made this once before last year and it's yummy and pretty easy to make ^_^
Ingredients:
12 ounces sirloin steak
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 tbsp honey
2 cloves garlic, finely diced
veggies to your liking, we did green beans
Directions:
In a bowl, garlic, honey, sesame oil, and soy sauce, stirring well.
Season steak with pepper to taste, and coat in the marinade in the bowl. Cover and leave in the fridge, at least 2 hours.
In a medium frying pan, drizzle enough cooking oil to coat, and sear steak on high heat, reserving marinade in the bowl. I kind of suck at telling how much time it's supposed to take but my steak was pretty thick, so ended up being about 6-7 minutes on each side and it was still pretty rare, or possibly I was just doing it wrong o.o But the end result tasted good either way so who really cares. When it's done, set aside on a plate to settle.
For green beans, wash and cut off ends, and cut in half if you like them smaller. In a wok, pour in enough water to cover bottom, about 1/2 cup. Leave vegetables inside and cover, turning the heat on high. Steams in about 8-10 minutes. Strain, then salt and pepper to taste. Add to the plate with your steak, which you can cut into pretty strips or not, and pour remaining marinade over it.
Eat and enjoy =)
