It's been 4 years since I've consistently had to get up anytime before 10, in college I barely even made it to 11:00 classes. Not like I made it to class much anyway...but in any case, my schedule for the first time since freshman year has me waking up early most days, and I fail at it. I totally overslept and blew off my classroom participation this morning (although I could have gotten up if I know my teacher wouldn't let it slide because I've been there so long) because "10 more minutes" tends to turn into 2 hours if I have no real necessity to get up. This is like the third time I've done this this semester, and I consistently leave about 10 minutes late for my 9:00 AM class on Thursday. If I didn't carpool with someone else, I bet I'd be late for that class all the time too. P/NP= I totally don't care about this class. On the subject of classes, I also fail at the first online class I took, which I ended up dropping because I didn't get my CPR certification required for it because, guess what, I overslept.
Hm, something needs to be done about this. This summer I will very likely have to wake up at 7:00 everyday for 6 weeks to teach art at a day camp, and man if i can't handle 9:00 AM now, I am going to suffer hard core. But what to do about it? From my ten minutes of googling, I've decided I'm going to
1. Go to bed earlier! And ignore whatever Thomas is watching that I want to watch to.
2. Try some yoga or meditation before bed so I sleep easier. Time to go dl some yoga videos.
3. Stop snoozing. I know from my whole life's experience I fail at snoozing, another 10 minutes easily turns into 2 hours with me. Tomorrow, I really gotta just get up once my alarm gets off.
4. Eat breakfast. I need to buy some cereal bars or something, because waking up early enough to make something might be stretching it or something.
Now that its not freezing cold anymore, it should be at least a little easier to drag myself out of bed. I'll try this this week and we'll see how it goes.
